Statement Against Racism

All of us at Habitbetter have felt outrage in response to the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. We recognize there are so many more before. This type of overt violence and racism can not be met with silence. We have spent the past week examining the long standing history of oppression, injustice and racism towards Black people in our country and in our world. We have spoken to each other about this inhumane reality, and are unanimous in our belief that we can not be complicit in this terrorization of Black people.  We know we have to do more and are fully committed to being better each and every day.

Habitbetter is a community for all races, ethnicities, religions and genders.  Alongside our Habitbetter Family, we stand against injustice and racism, and commit to learn, grow, and support real change in this country.

We’re all students listening and learning, recognizing what we don’t know, and feeling humble in front of our teachers: the Black women, men, and children, trans and cis gender, who have experienced this injustice and prejudice first hand. We are dedicated students, and believe in the power of education, which is why we are donating 25% of profits to the NAACP empowerment programs.

We are dedicated to ensuring our company is actively anti-racist. We are actively educating ourselves with courses and materials that ensure we are a culturally competent, inclusive and anti-racist company and brand. We are going to be vigilant in hiring, working with, and paying Black individuals, Black led companies and organizations that align with our mission of bringing one million people habitual happiness.

We know we have made mistakes. We are dedicated to doing better. We are listening and learning, and dedicating ourselves to creating a habit of anti-racism.
